In Science we are studying plants and animals. Last week we learned about what tools scientists use to study the world around them. We practiced making observations using our five senses by taking a walk around the block to look for living and nonliving things in our neighborhood. We saw flowers, heard cicadas, and felt the wind blowing.
In math we played a fun game called "Shake and Make 5". We shook up counters and dumped them out to see how many were yellow and red. This is laying the foundation for when we formally learn about addition later in the school year by helping students to understand that numbers can be broken apart into groups.
